A fall fête for Simon Pearce

Hello!

I hope you all had a beautiful weekend and that your weeks are off to a great start.  It’s been busy at POISE. with Boston Fashion Week kicking-off this weekend and an installation project I completed last week for Simon Pearce!  It was very exciting and quite an honor to be a part of – I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity.  Simon Pearce quality is exemplary – they work with artisans in Vermont and Maryland to create their products and the craftsmanship shows. I created a fall fête tablescape and bar for them in collaboration with some of my most trusted event partners & vendors.  The idea was to stage a fall fête dinner party scheme that can be interpreted for a large-scale event or a small intimate private party.

I love emerald green and gold together for the fall, and especially for the holidays. The green is a great festive color but still rich & sophisticated, and the gold adds just enough glamour to give an event setting or table the pop it needs. My style is minimal & modern generally speaking so I took this opportunity to really design into my aesthetic and share my style with Simon Pearce customers.  I have the incredible honor of having the table design living in the window through the end of October so if you are on Newbury Street, please stop by and check it out!

Today I am sharing the table details and elements with you & how to get the look, as well as the custom menu {and recipe sources} I put together.  In order to avoid a super-long post, I will share the bar execution, set-up and elements along with a special fall cocktail recipe designed by the incredibly talented Boston mixologist Domingo-Martin Barreres with you next week {figured it would be best to break them into 2 posts}.

The accent plates with the gold graphic were made by me.  I knew what I wanted for this design, but had trouble finding it so I created them!  I did this by painting the plates with a gold metallic paint to get the look. It would be a dream come true for me to design my own line of tableware one day.

The menu was a custom design integrating the backdrop for the bar {which you will see on the blog next week}. I worked with Glenn Soulia Design who is my go to for custom graphic design projects. He is incredibly talented and his aesthetic is unparalleled. He designed my logo, brand look & feel, and business cards, and we’ve worked together on a number of projects both large and small for clients and brands.

I worked with Orly Khon on the hanging flowers.  I loved the idea of framing the table with an overhang of white flowers – imagine how impactful this would look  over a long communal table for an event that seats 100?  Orly and her team did a beautiful job executing this for the space we had to work with, and the length of the table.  They used silk parrot tulips for the purposes of this installation since it is living in the window for six weeks, but it can be just as easily created with fresh flowers for live events which would be my first choice.  Lucky for me Orly and her team work with both silk and fresh flowers and we were able to show this concept on a smaller scale as part of event design. {this was photographed by me from the outside, so the photo is far from perfect, however I wanted to show you what the flower overhang concept looks like}.

I’ll share the bar part of the installation with you next week.  In the meantime, I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to the incredible vendors that collaborated with me on this project and to Simon Pearce for an opportunity I am incredibly thankful to have.

I hope you like this and thank you so much for being with me on this exciting journey!!

Have a beautiful day,
~Emmanuelle
